Our story
About T & K Smog & Auto Repair
For years, families across Chula Vista have brought their cars to us for smog checks and repairs they can count on. What started as one mechanic's reputation for fair, honest work has grown into a shop that regulars now recommend to everyone they know.
Smog checks are our specialty. We move fast, most vehicles are in and out in about fifteen minutes, and when a car gets flagged under the BAR referee program, we walk owners through exactly what's needed to get it certified.
Beyond smog, we handle the everyday work that keeps a car running: oil changes, tune-ups, and the repairs in between. We explain what we find in plain language before we touch anything, so there are no surprises when the work is done.
- Same-day smog checks
- BAR referee program guidance
- Multi-generation family customers
- Plain-language explanations before any repair
What customers say
“I was a car dealer for many years. I did all of my smog work and repairs with Thayer. He always was kind and professional. I had all family members use his company as well. Thank you for all the great memories!”
“Another happy customer. Great customer service, great service, fair price. He is trustworthy and has my business from now on! Thank you for our tune up and congrats on being our new mechanic! I already recommended you to the people I know! Highly recommended!!!”
“Amazing! They did an amazing job on my truck, super quick and efficient. Mr.T took the time to teach me and explain to me the process. No other place wanted to take my truck because it was trouble and under the BAR program. However, he took the time to guide me on the process and helped me make calls to the referee so that my car would get a certificate that will pass the smog. Over all excellent experience super HONEST has a great heart!!!!”
